A software company in London, building for Apple platforms.
Nous Forge Ltd is a privately held software company registered in England & Wales. We design, build and publish native applications — beginning with iOS, and extending to the wider Apple ecosystem as our catalogue grows.
We work as an independent studio rather than an agency. Instead of taking on a wide book of short client engagements, we hold a small number of products at a time and see each one the whole way through: the research that decides what is worth building, the interface and interaction design, the engineering, the App Store release, and the maintenance and iteration that follow it for as long as the product lives.
That focus is deliberate. Most of what makes software good or bad is settled long before anyone writes code, in decisions about what to include and — more often — what to leave out. We would rather spend that time properly on a few things than spread it thinly across many.

Judgment before code
The hardest part of software is deciding what deserves to exist. We spend real time on that question before committing to a build, and we are willing to conclude that the answer is less than we started with. A smaller product that is clear about its purpose beats a larger one that is not.

Build for the platform
We write native code and follow the platform's own conventions. Apple's Human Interface Guidelines exist because consistency is what makes an unfamiliar app immediately usable; we treat them as a starting point rather than an obstacle to design around.

Collect as little as possible
Personal data is a liability before it is an asset. We design for the minimum a feature genuinely needs, keep processing on the device where that is feasible, and are plain in our privacy disclosures about what is gathered and why.

Ship, then stay
We release when something is genuinely ready, then keep working on it. Maintenance, accessibility, performance and support are part of the product, not an afterthought once the launch is over.
